2 adjoining cottages, originally in single occupation and at one time a public
house. Probably C17 core considerably remodelled and extended in C19. Roughcast
rendered stone rubble and cob. Thatch roof with gable ends, partially slated at
rear. Stone rubble stack at left gable end, brick stack to right gable end. 2 rear
lateral brick stacks enclosed in outshuts.
Plan: as interior not accessible, original plan and development not fully
recoverable. Each cottage appears to consist of principal room to each side of
stairhall, each with a single storey rear service wing to rear of the left-hand
room, that to left-hand cottage has hipped thatch roof, that to right has gable-
ended slate roof.
2 storeys. 6-window range. All sashes with margin glazing bars except for smaller
sash over left-hand porch, which is of stone rubble with brick quoins and flat 4-
centred arch. Door with 3 glazed upper panels, 2 panelled base. Right-hand cottage
has early C20 timber glazed leanto porch with 4 panelled inner door, the upper 2
panels glazed.
