The bridge spanning the River Calder has been twice widened, in 1758 and 1797. What is interesting is that the arches are semicircular on the western side, and pointed on the eastern side of the bridge. The grade 1 listed Chantry Chapel of St Mary can be seen on the east side of the bridge.
