House. Mid-C17 with C20 alterations and additions. Timber frame with
rendered infill panels (alterations and additions also rendered) on rendered
plinth; tiled roof; side and end stacks to rear. Built as L-plan with
parlour cross-wing now filled out to rectangle. Single-storey and attic
frontage to lane; square framing of 4-panel height and small diagonal
braces under eaves, slightly projecting cross-wing to right has more
irregular framing and diagonal struts to a collared truss; range to left
is of one large bay of 6 panels; C20 casements central to each bay with
an additional small window against left-hand post-head of gable, there is
no window to the first floor of the left-hand part; an exposed internal
beam-end occupies the panel above the ground-floor window. The entrance
is set-back on the side of the parlour cross-wing, a location typical for
a mid-C17 parlour orientated house.
