5/244 Gastlings Farmhouse

GV II

House, now subdivided. C17, with C19 reworkings and additions. Timber framed
construction with colourwashed roughcast render. Later additions in brick
with colourwashed roughcast render. Clay tile roofs. Original block is 2
storeyed H-plan, with lower 2-storeyed gabled porch to centre. 2 later gables
to N are of one storey and attics. All windows are C19, first floor one
mullioned, ground floor ones with mullions and transoms. Porch has circular
plaque with coronet. Variety of red brick ridge stacks. Substantial external
stack to S elevation of red brick with paired diagonal flues.
