Row of terraced "4th rate" houses, the ground floors originally shops, now
residential. c.1810-20 Portman Estate development. Stock brick (No. 28
painted), with painted wood ground floors; concealed slate roofs. One
window wide fronts. Ground floors have delicately panelled former shop
fronts each with square headed doorways (one blind) flanking set forward
broad glazing bar sash window with small panes, panelled risers and sides
to that of No. 28, all contained beneath narrow fascia and cornice. Upper
floors each have broad, recessed, glazing bar sash under flat gauged arch
(segmental arches to No. 28). Parapets with copings (that of No. 27
rebuilt). Cast iron area railings with urn finials.
