3.8.61 The George Hotel

GV II

This was an important coaching inn on the Hastings road. Double L-shaped C18
building. The main portion has 5 windows and 3 gabled dormers, the recessed portion
to the west 4 windows and 2 dormers. Both are tile-hung on a brick base. Eaves
cornice. Tiled roof. Glazing bars missing on ground floor. Doorway with heavy
flat hood on brackets.
