Terraced town house. c.1772-74 by Robert Adam. Brown brick with
rusticated stucco ground floor, slate roof. 3 storeys, attic storey,
basement. 3 windows wide continuing return of No. 18 Adam Street q.v.
Ground floor has semicircular arched entrance to right with vermiculated
voussoirs and jambs, panelled door and patterned fanlight, recessed sashes
with vermiculated heads and keystones. Upper floors have recessed sashes
under flat gauged arches. Bracketed cornice over ground floor. Main
cornice over 2nd floor, parapeted attic, Cast iron balconettes to 2nd
floor. Cast iron area railings with urn finials. Good interior with
geometrical staircase with wrought iron balusters, friezes, cornices etc.
