House. Three principal builds: front range c1840; central section late C18; rear range early C16, raised one storey in C18. C19 service ranges to rear. Timber-framed and rendered. Front range gault brick, part of C18 section clad in gault brick. Welsh slate roof. C18 and C19 sections form rectangular block with central stair and entrance hall plan. Rear range one room with lateral stack and inserted straight stair. Three bays with central pedimented break forward with decorative frieze and angle pilasters. Moulded cornice. stucco Doric porch distyle in antis. Double leaf half-glazed doors. Sash windows under gauged brick arches drop to ground level. First floor sashes with margin lights and stucco cills. Central sash in pilastered architrave with cornice. Garden elevation: window bays break forward. Sashes with margin lights, single storey C19 canted bay. Tall stacks. Interior: Early C16 range moulded beam and centre tenon joists with run-out stops. Inglenook fireplace rebuilt in C18 red brick with stone surround with central keyblock. C18 section contains early C19 staircase with stick balusters and a mahogany ramped and wreathed handrail. Former Library to garden side:- Raised and fielded dado, arched recesses flanking fireplace. Dentilled cornice, Early C19 marble fireplace. marble fireplaces and moulded cornices to front range.
Attached to left (N) side: late C18 quadrant wall in red brick in Flemish bond. C19 carriage arch inserted adjacent to house. Stands on moated site.
