Stephen Steere 10 metres to north
of west tower of Church of St
Martin
GV II
Group of 2 tombchests. 1700 and 1723. Tombchest in memory of Richard Steere,
Yeoman, who died in 1700 and second in memory of Stephen Steere, Yeoman, who died in
1723. Both tombchests have stone rubble chests with slate rectangular lids,
inscribed in upper and lower case lettering with serifs. Marginal inscriptions and
verses in central panels.
