Late C17. Two room plan house of 2 storeys and attics with end chimney and outshot
at rear. Timber-framed in square panels with some diagonal braces and painted brick
infilling. Tiled roof with 3 dormers. Three casement windows. Modern porch. Butt
purlin roof with butt rafters. Stair ladder remains for accedd to roof. Ingle nook
fireplace with seat and large bread oven. The hearth beam and spine beam have
elaborate stops. (See Domestic Buildings Research Group Report No 126. Joan M Harding
