Remains of milestone, resited at angle of wall. Early C19, resited late
C20. Unidentified stone, Exterior face of stone set against wall and
incised Ilminster 6, reverse facing interior with cast iron 'T'-shaped
plaque inscribed with raised lettering Honiton 10 l/2. A gap has been
left in the wall so that small animals and kneeling pedestrians can
read the milestone, an unusual arrangement. The Honiton to Ilminster
road was begun by the Trust of that name in 1807.
