board coupled opening and slate hung within the triangular front at the east side
of the north elevation is a tall 3-light flat-roofed dormer; the gabled porch
to turret containing a pointed bell opening beneath a gable. The supporting walls
being decorated with minor buttresses on each face. The wailing is in red brick-
work in English bond, with weathered cill band (raised at the east side and tran-

of the porch; the lower string of this base rises over the pointed arches of the
openings. Minor stepped buttresses occur, one on the west side of the south
elevation, another at the east side of the north elevation and the east side of
the porch: A massive 3-stepped buttress is centrally placed on the east gable
with a trefoil-headed niche in the upper part. All the openings are slender
lancets (5 on each long side, with smaller coupled lights at the east side and
a group of 4 within the transept), and porch (partly masked by a later structure)
has a pointed arch in 2 stages and the whole of the wall above contains the
chequered pattern, with rosettes in alternate tiles. within, there is an arch
braced timber roof, very deep window reveals, a continuous weathered cill band,
and 2 flush bands of block brickwork (one at impost level). At the west end
is a 2-storeyed timber Gothic screen, with 3 cusped arcading, a gallery rail,
