Cartshed. Mid-C18. Red brick; corrugated iron roof. Aligned north-south
facing north. 2 storeys; 2 roof bays. North gable has 2 cart entrances with
keyed semi-circular arches springing from stone imposts, above are 2 blocked
first floor openings with segmental heads. The east (left hand) side has 2
segmental arched doors to the left and one segmental arched fixed light window to
the right. Interior. The first floor was carried on heavy chamfered cross
beams supported on brick piers; roof truss with raking struts extending from tie
beam to principals. The cartshed is part of a symmetrical complex of contemporary
farm buildings which served a now demolished house. V.C.H. Vol.XX (1984), p. 105.
