- drinking fountain

- II

Village cross and drinking fountain. Dated 1900. Stone. 2 steps
to octagonal section pedestal incorporating a spring with shaped head
recess and semi-circular projecting trough contained by base plinth
step; octagonal cross base with moulded top and octagonal cross shaft
tapering towards the top; foliated cross. The pedestal is inscribed:
"This cross is erected by parishioners and friends A.D. 1900 to the
glory of God and in memory of Sir Thomas Percival Heywood Baronet and
of his work in the parish of Denstone".
