Farmhouse. C17 with later additions and alterations. Coursed squared
and dressed large stone blocks; clay tile roof; brick integral end
stacks. 2 bay end baffle-entry plan with front and back door opening to
the western stack; the West bay contains the main living room, doors at
the North and South ends of its eastern wall give access to, respectively,
the stairs and pantry at the rear, and a small chamber at the front;
mid-C19 and C20 extensions to the rear form an L-plan. 2 storeys with
first floor band; 2 windows, C20 casements; half glazed door to left
with straight hood mould and C20 concrete block porch; mounting block
incorporating a dog kennel to right. Interior: Massive fireplace to
western room with ovolo moulded mantle beam; exposed ceiling beams with
ovolo mouldings; timber framed partition wall continued upwards as roof
truss with 3 studs and 3 rails between collar and tie beam, and central
vertical strut above collar.
