Early C19. 3 storeys. 4 window bays. Slate roof. Stuccoed. Moulded cornice
to parapet. Pilasters with incised lime and Greek key decoration. Sashes with
glazing bars on 2nd floor. On 1st floor, tall 3 centred early C19 casements,
formerly a metal verandah to 1st floor. On ground floor, 2 3-light sashes.
Moulded surrounds to 2 entrance doors; semi-circular fanlight with delicate tracery;
4-panelled doors. Door to No 6 at right hand end of 6 Panels. Low stuccoed
wall before Burton House terminates in stuccoed pier attached to No 1 Alexandra
Cottage.

Nos 1 and 2 Pound Street form a group with The Peek Memorial Chapel, Hotel Alexandra,
Nos 1 and 2 Alexandra Cottage, Nos 5 & 6 St Michael's Hotel Shamien Hotel, all in
Pound Street, and also with the Stile House Hotel and wall in Stile Lane.
