5/51 Pedams Oak Farmhouse

GV II

House and byres. Early C18 and C19. Varied stone rubble, with quoins and
ashlar dressings; stone-flagged roof with stone and yellow brick chimneys;
Welsh slate roofs on pent additions. 2 storeys, 6 bays in one build; 3-bay
house flanked by 2- and one-bay byres. House has wide square steps to C19
gabled glazed porch, with bargeboards and bracketed cornice, on stone plinth;
ledged-boarded inner door in surround of long and short blocks. Tooled stone
surrounds to renewed nearly-square windows in flanking bays, except ground
floor right window with flat stone lintel and sill. Left byre has flat stone
lintel over boarded door at left; long-and-short block surround to similar door
in second bay. Wood-lined small chamfered square opening at right; slit vents
under eaves. Right byre has long-and-short block surround to door at-right of
side stone steps to loft door; small square recess in return of steps adjacent
to door. 2 square ridge chimneys flanking house part, the left raised in brick.
C19 one-storey one-bay pent left addition and 2-bay rear outshut. House empty
at time of survey.
