SY 39 NW WOOTTON FITZPAINE

1/205 Higher Pound Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Late C17 and C19. Rubble walls with brick quoins, roughcast.
Slate roof with gable ends. 2 brick stacks, one at left hand end, one in from
right hand end. 1½ storeys. c 4 windows: casements with 2, 3 and 4 lights
with glazing bars in top part. Porch to left of centre, rubble with brick
quoins, c 1800. Gabled roof, of slate. Front door, plank, with depressed-
arch head. Interior: 2 mid-chamfered beams, one with filleted stops. Lobby
entrance plan with doorcase-stair on back wall. Former cider house at right
hand end, now garage. "RCHM Dorset I", p 267 (20).
