Terraced houses. 1773-4. Developed and designed by John
Spiller. Brick, stucco and roofs of slate. Three storeys above
basement, with dormers to nos 6-9, three windows each.
Round-arched recessed entrances set back under a round-arch
with gauged brick heads and stucco keystone and impost blocks.
All windows flat-arched with gauged brick heads and some 6/6
sashes of original design. No 7 has first-floor windows
lowered, and cast-iron balconies to first and second floors;
band above second-floor windows, parapet; dormers in mansard
roof; stacks to party walls. Area railings with pinched spike
and acorn finials, lacking in part to no 6; nos 5, 8 and 9
have scrolled overthrow lampholders.
Former coach houses between nos 9 and 10 (q.v.) of purplish
brick to left, yellow stocks to right, slate roof; right hand
possibly rebuilt. Single storey with pedimented gable over
round-arached openings. Central blank recess with round-arched
entrances to either side having keystones and impost blocks.
