Semi-detached houses. 1856-61. Developed by Henry Rydon and probably designed by Charles Hambridge. Yellow brick set in Flemish bond with dressings of red brick, stone and probably stucco; roof of Welsh and artificial slate. Three storeys over basement, three windows each. Steps up to entrance with stilted pointed-segmental arch, cornice and overlight; the archivolt, which here and elsewhere could be of stone or stucco, is set in a panel of gauged red brick rising from a brick impost band which links the entrance to the two ground-floor windows which are detailed in the same way. Sill course of red brick to first-floor windows which are round-arched with foliage imposts, gauged brick head and flush archivolt with pointed extrados; the second floor has four linked windows with chamfered mullions of brick and wedge lintels probably of stone, the chamfer stop being in the stonework; brick dentils to boxed eaves; hipped roof with stacks to party wall and sides, those to the side truncated on no 69, those to no 71 with oversailing courses; no 71 has a basement and ground floor wing added to the right, probably also in C19, with canted bay to both storeys and stilted segmental-arched windows with foliage imposts to ground floor, probably of brick and stone but now stuccoed; parapet with trefoil ornament.
