East ward, north aspect. Extensive buildings by CJ Ferguson 1894-1904, incorporating medieval masonry; these include Captain's Lodge and King's Hall in elaborate Perpendicular Gothic style. Buildings left of these, also by Ferguson in early Tudor style. (Photo TP Jackson Aug 1980).
