Description

PORTLAND

SY6871 WAKEHAM, Easton
969-1/4/73 (West side)
16/08/76 No.118
(Formerly Listed as:
WAKEHAM STREET
No.120)

GV II

House in row, formerly two cottages. Late C18 or early C19.
Large squared and coursed stone block, slate roof. Two storeys
and attic, 2-windowed. A large intrusive raking dormer above
4-pane sashes, including extra sash at ground floor occupying
former door position. To left a C20 door. Raised verge,
cemented, left, and stone stacks at each gable end. This
property has lost all its original windows, but is part of a
group including Nos 114 and 116 (qqv) probably built at one
time; the group is important in the context of much later
modification in properties in this part of Wakeham.
