Shops and dwellings. Early C17. Timber-frame and render; twin
gable plain tile roof, with higher slate roof to right rear. 2
storeys; 2-window range: C20 metal casements set between
studding; plain barge boards to moulded wood eaves. C20 shop
fronts with entrances to right. Restored c1970.
INTERIOR: 1st floor: exposed timber-frame to rear wall;
chamfered arch braces; Mayor's Room, (part of structure of
No.24 but now accessed from No.23 (qv)), has C17 plaster
moulding of City Coat of Arms and heavily enriched moulded and
decorated plaster ceiling. Ground floor: exposed timber-frame
and chamfered ceiling beams. Cellar: stone vaulted; plank
door, in chamfered stone 4-centred arch; stone winder steps.
