Outbuilding, probably malthouse. C16 or C17 with later
alterations. Timber-frame with brick and rubble underbuilding;
renewed tile roof. 2 storeys; 7-window range. C18 brick
underbuilding to front has entrance to left of centre and 6
segmental-headed windows with small-paned fixed glazing. 1st
floor has entrance up C20 iron staircase and several 3- or
4-light windows. Square framing with some braces and central
beam above windows but lower than eaves. Rear has rubble
ground floor and some exposed wattle panels to 1st floor,
which has blocked windows. INTERIOR: heavy chamfered beams to
ground floor and end brick fireplace; partly exposed roof
trusses to 1st floor. An interesting survival of an ancillary
building to a town house, once the property of John Rogers of
Harvard House.
