GV II

Semi-detached houses linked by single-storey porches. Early
C19. Yellow brick set in Flemish bond, stucco, roofs of nos
248-50 obscured by parapet, of 252-4 of artificial slate and
of 256-8 of Welsh slate. Three storeys over basement, two
windows each. Flat-arched entrance in single-storey porch set
back to side, with pilasters and overlight. Basement and
ground floor stuccoed, the ground floor decorated with banded
rustication; all windows flat-arched; stucco terminates at
storey band; first- and second-floor windows with stuccco
architraves, those to first floor also having a cornice, and
paterae to frieze and cast-iron windows guards (window-guards
lacking to nos 248-50); cornice and blocking course, remade to
nos 248-50; hipped roofs to the other two blocks; stacks to
party walls.
