859-1/6/359 Barber and Godsall monuments

GV II

Two chest tombs, approx 6m W from Thomas Rudge monument;
(i) approx 1.75m S of the hedge. Earliest decipherable date
1835. To Richard BARBER. Sandstone. Flat ledger to moulded
edges, raised panels, inset ends with moulded cornice and
bases, on ovolo-mould base. Inscription panels worn, but .....
BARBER WICKES also legible.
(ii) approx 1.5m W of preceding. 1795. Records James GODSALL
Gent, died at the age of 76. Sandstone. Flat ledger with
moulded edges, raised panels, inset ends with cornice and base
mould, on cavetto base. Inscription panels badly eroded.
