Attached house. c1792. Possibly by William Paty. Brick with
limestone dressings, party wall stacks and pantile hipped
mansard roof. Double-depth plan. Mid Georgian style. Each of 3
storeys, basement and attic; 3-window range. Pilasters to a
frieze, cornice and parapet, with coped party walls; central
doorway has slender fluted columns to a semicircular arch,
good fanlight and a 6-panel door; cambered heads with 7
stepped voussoirs to 8/8-pane sashes. INTERIOR: completely
remodelled c1980, entrance hall and C20 open-well stair.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: wrought-iron front area railings and
gates with urn finials. Interrupts the otherwise complete
terrace of Nos 56-86 Kingsdown Parade (qv), and probably built
for one of the developers, Edward Ash, for his own use.
