House, public house and shop, now printer's works. Early C19.
Brick with limestone dressings, rendered returns, brick
left-hand lateral stacks and a pantile roof. Double-depth
plan. Late Georgian style. 3 storeys; 2-window range. Giant
pilaster strips to a moulded coping, and an early C19 shop
front with ashlar plinth, panelled stall riser, panelled jambs
and mullion to a fascia, with 3-pane windows, a left-hand
doorway in a plain surround with plate-glass overlight and
door with 6 flush panels. 5 stepped voussoirs to 6/6-pane
sashes. INTERIOR: right-hand stair flight with stick balusters
and column newels, plain fire surround to second-floor front
room. The rear elevation removed and extended into printers'
works. A remarkably unaltered facade.
