Two houses, now one house and one shop. Late C18, with C19 and
C20 alteration. Painted brick in English garden-wall bond on
painted stone plinth; pantile roof with right end brick stack
to each house. 2-storeys-and-attic; 4-window front. To right,
No.14 has half-glazed and panelled door, and bowed shop window
between plain pilasters with bracketed cornice; window of 3
segment-headed lights with traceried spandrels between moulded
glazing bars, over fluted sill. To left, No.16 has C20 house
door beneath overlight and board passage entrance door,
beneath blocked overlight with crossed glazing bars; 3-light
bow window similar to that in No.14, but with altered glazing
bars. First-floor windows are single-pane sashes with painted
stone sills beneath slightly cambered arches. Both houses have
gabled dormers with 2-light sliding sashes, No.14 with large
panes, those to No.16 of 6 panes. No.14 unoccupied at time of
review (1990).
