Pair of semi-detached villas. Mid C19. Stucco; dry Delabole
slate roof with 2 roof dormers roofed and clad with asbestos
slate; central deep axial stack with 11 original pots;
cast-iron ogee gutters. Double-depth pair with mirror-image
plans, each one with an entrance hall approached by a porch
midway on the return wall. 2 storeys plus attics over
basement; symmetrical 4-window first-floor range. Ground floor
has large canted oriel window to the middle of each front,
with horned sashes and moulded cornices, balustrade over
right-hand bay window; basement with doors flanking 12-pane
sashes; moulded hoods on brackets over first-floor windows
which have original 12-pane sashes to right and later C19
horned 4-pane sashes to left; moulded cornice under parapet; 2
roof dormers. Porches to return walls have original pairs of
panelled doors.INTERIORS not inspected but likely to be of
interest. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: forecourt walls have granite
plinths surmounted by closely-set iron railings with
fleur-de-lis finials and gates, fronting entrances with steps
with similar detail. Included for group value.
