Bale-tomb. Robert Aston, Innholder (of the George q.v.) died 1698, his
wife Sarah in 1705. Ashlar. Large Baroque bale tomb. Scroll-work
escutcheons to end panels, 2 slate memorial panels set in on North side.
3 pilasters with high relief fruit and vegetable carving (putto in centre)
and leaf ornament in frieze over. Moulded plinth and cornice. Bale in
two parts with bobbin end moulding and fishscale decoration in centre. 3
vase finials, the central one broken.
