STATION ROAD 1. 1633 (West Side) Temple in the grounds of West Bank School SY 18 NW 14/284 II 2. Built mid C19. Set on hill to north west of school. Classical circular ashlar temple set on plinth of 3 steps. Half of perimeter enclosed to rear, the front half open articulated by 4 free standing and 2 engaged giant Tuscon columns with moulded bases. Entablature with moulded cornice, low ashlar dome above. The entablature is repeated internally. No other decoration or moulding but against the wall to rear is a semi circular stone bench, the back projecting from wall with moulded coping. 2 shaped fluted supporting brackets and at either end scrolled arm rests. Fine setting surrounded by semi circle of yews with magnificient view over Sidmouth bay.
