ST 76 NW NORTH STOKE

4/158 Nos. 1-3 (consec.) Naish's Cottages

G.V. II

Row of three cottages. No. 1 is late C17 - early C18, altered and extended
early C19; Nos. 2 and 3 are probably mid C18 (possibly remodellings of earlier
buildings). Rubble with freestone dressings; double Roman tiled roofs with
coped raised verges. 2 storeys. 2 bays to each cottage. No. 1 has 3- and
2-light casement windows in ogee moulded mullions and surrounds; Nos. 2 and 3
have 2-light casement windows in edge roll moulded surrounds; all under straight
cornices. C20 doors to centre of Nos. 1 and 2 and to the right of No. 3; all
under flat stone hoods on brackets. No. 1 has an early C19 extension to the
rear with 2-light Gothic style cross and casement windows.
