Farmhouse, incorporating the former Chapel of St. Lawrence. C15, altered late
C16 and C17. Ashlar and coursed rubble with freestone dressings; plain and
double Roman tiled roofs; ashlar and rendered stacks. L-plan with the former
chapel as the rear wing. The west elevation has 2 storeys and attics. 2 bays:
to the left (north) are 3-light casement windows in ovolo moulded mullions and
surrounds and under dripmoulds; to the right is a 3-light cross window on the
ground floor in ovolo moulded mullions and surrounds and a 2-light cross window
on the first floor in chamfered mullions and surrounds and under a dripmould.
Blocked square chamfered window at left and angle buttress with off-sets in the
centre (probably the north-west corner of the chapel) and to the right. South
elevation. At the left (west) end is the gable of the cross wing : slightly
projecting stack with a further projecting section of masonry to the left;
2-light cross window in chamfered surrounds and under a dripmould; later
projecting, gabled porch. The body of the chapel can be seen to the right:
central buttress with off-sets; on the ground floor are two 3-light casement
windows, the one to the right has chamfered mullions and surrounds; on the first
floor, to the left is a 2-light cross window in chamfered surrounds and to the
right is a 2-light window with 4-centred heads and a chamfered surround; at an
intermediate level are two blocked 2-light Perpendicular style windows with
4-centred heads, the right one retains dagger tracery to the upper part and a
dripmould. The east wall of the former chapel has been rebuilt but the north
wall retains a similar arrangement to the south, that is a central buttress and
two blocked C15 windows. Inside the easternmost part can be seen the mullions
and surrounds of the windows and an ogee-headed piscina.
