Almshouses, 1821. Built for William Townsend. Limestone ashlar; gabled Welsh
slate roof; moulded ashlar ridge and end stacks. 6-unit plan, Tudor style. 2
storeys; 8-window range. Label moulds over paired C20 plank doors set in
chamfered stone architraves. Label moulds over stone-mullioned segmental-headed
windows with sunk spandrels. 0utshuts to rear. Interior not inspected. Endowed
by William Townsend, Haberdasher of London and native of Witney, for the use of
aged unmarried women.
