House, C17 and probably earlier. Timberframed and plastered, old
tile roof. L plan. Long range with cross wing on W, which has
tall, mid-C17 chimneystack on square base, with multiple diagonal
shafts and moulded top courses. Gable end with moulded
bargeboard and carved apex pendant. 2 storeys with attics to
cross wing. Main range has deeply jettied upper floor and modern
casements. Modern 1 and 2 storey extension E of central
chimneystack. Rear elevation has C17 stair turret in angle,
weatherboarded with tile roof. Upper floor interior of front
range has C17 plaster decorations. (VCH IV, 61, illus).
