House. Late medieval hall-house with cross wing at NW end.
Timber frame, plaster, old tile roof. Large external red brick
stack on NW with tiled set backs and later, hexagonal shafts.
Rebuilt, C17, red brick stack towards SE. One - two and a half
storeys. Low hall range has 2 dormers of 2- and 3-light
casements, a 5-light Ground floor casement and other modern
windows. Interior has exposed crown post roof at SE end of hall,
Ground floor of which has early C17 chimneybreast with moulded
wooden lintel. Early C17 floor beams to centre bay. Cross wing
was remodelled later C17 and gives stairwell in rear angle.
Clasped purlin roof. Home of sculptor Henry Moore, 1940-. (RCHM
