Terrace of town houses. c.1800-20 Portman Estate development. Stock brick
with channelled stucco ground floor; concealed slate roofs. 4 storeys and
basement, some of 5 storeys, 3-window wide fronts. Semicircular arched
doorways to right, except No. 97; panelled doors, pilastered or Greek Doric
columned side lights and Coade imposts, under delicately patterned
fanlights with lead ornament. Recessed sashes, some with glazing bars,
under flat gauged arches to upper floors. Plat band finishing off ground
floor stuccowork; crowning stucco cornices and blocking courses. Original,
cast iron, geometric and anthemion patterned 1st floor balconies. Cast
iron area railings with urn finials. Part of one of the most extensive and
intact sequences of Georgian terraced houses in London.
