Shop with dwelling over, now Building Society shop and
offices. Early C19. Brown brick with red brick dressings.
Slate roof. 2 facades, the northern to Tuesday Market Place,
the eastern to High Street. North front of 4 storeys in 3
bays. Fascia formed of 2 plate-glass windows separated by a
central doorway and framed by plain pilasters. Pilasters
doubled to terminate elevation. Each has an acanthus capital
motif. Dentil fascia cornice with egg-and-dart decoration
above and below. First and second floors illuminated through
sash windows with glazing bars and gauged skewback arches,
those to left and right at first floor are tripartite.
Second-floor sashes are horned and possess a single glazing
bar each. Gabled roof, hipped to east. High Street facade in 4
bays. Similar shopfront with a doorway to chambers above set
to left. First floor contrived to have 5 bays by provision of
2 blind windows, one either side of central tripartite sash.
Sashes similar except those to second floor are original and
have full complement of glazing bars. INTERIOR reported as
refitted 1990 but including resited staircase.
