Farmhouse, now divided into two houses. Circa early C18. Painted brick in Flemish
bond with right hand side elevation partly slate hung. Slate roof with gable ends;
regular slate on front slope and rag and scantle slates on rear slope which continues
over integral outshut. Brick axial, originally gable end stack to left of centre and
brick stack in extended range on left hand gable end.
Plan Circa early C18 plan retained intact; right hand C18 range comprises cross
passage flanked by two reception rooms on front and two service rooms to rear. Dog-
leg stair to rear of passage, continuing up in stair projection on rear to provide
access to attic. Extended in circa early C19 with two-room double depth range
comprising probably service wing; the kitchen to rear heated by a projecting rear
lateral chimney stack.
Two storeys, regular 1:3 window front. Main range on right, symmetrical 3-window
front with brick segmental arches to sash openings, two early C19 16-pane hornless
sashes flank C19 brick porch with slate gabled roof and C18 2-panel door within.
First floor with 3 hornless 16-pane sashes, the right hand sash possibly replaced in
C20. C19 range added on left hand gable end; C19 16-pane hornless sash on ground
floor and 4 over 8 pane hornless sash above. Two storey rear elevation unaltered
with C19 sashes in brick segmental arches. Stair projection continues above roof
line, partly slate hung with upper stair window blocked.
Interior with partitions retained. Circa C19 segmental arch to stair. C20 grates on
ground floor and C18 2-panel doors on first. Dog leg stair with square balusters and
newels and circa C18 simple panelling with scratch moulding. Roof over C18 range
with 6 trusses; principals halved, lap-jointed and pegged at apices and continued
over integral outshut.
