GV II*

Parish church, originally a chapelry to Great Paxton. Mid C12,
of which only the chancel arch and south wall survive. North
wall of nave rebuilt in C18. Chancel rebuilt and church
restored in 1873 by A. Blomfield (1829-99). The vestry was
added in 1897. Walls of pebble-rubble and brick with original
dressings of Barnack stone and modern dressings of Bath stone.
Tile roofs. South elevation has four round-headed windows
including one original window enriched by bead-ornament to the
nave, and two modern chancel windows. Mid C12 south doorway has
a semi-circular head with contemporary ornament on each moulded
order and supported on detached shafts with scalloped capitals,
moulded abaci and bases. Interior. The chancel arch restored
with original, and modern stone, has attached shafts with carved
capitals.
