Farmhouse, dated 1711 but possibly earlier, now 2 dwellings. Brick (rendered
at front and side), stone plinth and some quoins, slate roof with some stone
slates, 2 ridge chimney stacks (one with 4 flues in axial line). L-shaped
baffle-entry plan of 3 bays, the 1st being a forward crosswing. 2½ storeys,
high stone plinth, bands on 2 levels; gabled single storey porch at junction
of 2nd and 3rd bays, 2 modern casements on each floor with 2 gabled dormers
above them; front of wing has altered openings, a small attic window in the
gable and below this a square plaque with worn lettering: C

Rear wall, largely concealed by various C19 extensions, has, inter alia, a
small attic window to wing. Interior: back-to-back inglenook fireplaces
in 2nd and 3rd bays, the former with original bressummer; large smoke hood
on 1st floor; quarter-round moulded beams on both floors; wing has good
staircase of late C17/early C18 type, and in front upper chamber a moulded
plaster overmantel with crude foliated patterns surrounding lettering which
appears to be: C

Floored attic and original purlin roof. Included in item is front garden
wall of stone with moulded coping, ball finials, 2 square gate piers with
prominent capitals and ball finials.
