House. C16, 2 storeys, timberframed plastered, aligned E-W with
gable to road. Formerly jettied along N side. Unjettied 2
storeys late C16 W extension. Shallow C18/19 gabled stair tower
on S, probably replacing older serice wing, involving internal
replanning. Steep old red tile roof with gabled ends. Central
chimney, one-third from E end, with former stair adjacent on N.
Chamfered axial beams to E room and middle room offset to S to
allow for jetty on N. Mortices for partition studs in cross beam
near W end of middle room now extended to W into former large
room with ovolo moulded axial beam. End part now axially divided
into larder and service room. Single storey plastered and tiled
axial W extension. Interior has extensive exposed timber
framework with close studding tension braces, former window
positions, heavy jowled posts, and clasped purlin roof with wind
braces. 3-light, early C18 windows with iron casements.
