C17 cottage situated within the moated site of Stonely Priory
and formerly known itself as Stonely Priory. Possibly a stable
built of reused stone converted in C19 to a dwelling. Two
storeys with attics. Coursed rubble limestone with dressed
stone quoins and off set string course at each floor level
reducing the wall thickness. Steeply pitched plain tiled, side
purlin roof with inserted C19 brick stack and crenellated
parapet to west elevation. Inserted modern and C19 gable
windows, two attic windows blocked. Central doorway facing west
with mitred stops to chamfered stone jambs. Interior has large
open hearth. Exposed ceiling beams.
