Farmhouse. Mid C17 with C19 and C20 alterations and additions. Limestone and
sandstone rubble, part rendered, brick, double Roman tiled roof with gable stacks.
L-plan, former through passage. 2 storeys and one window, 4-light casement with
leaded lights and loop catch at first floor, ground floor has C20 window and door
with timber lintel, small 4-pane leaded stair light, block to right projects
slightly, C19 door with timber lintel to right of stack, now blocked; single
storey lean-to to left. Left return has small casement of 4 panes with iron
stanchions in gable end; lower rear wing has from left, 3-light C19 casement, C20
casement and small fixed light, external stack to rear with curved flue; straight
joint between rear wing and main block. Right return has ground floor C20 window
and first floor sash with brickwork to sides, 2 buttresses; buttress to rear with
C20 window at ground and first floor, rendered wall. Right return of rear wing
has at ground floor C20 door and 2 windows, first floor has two 2-light casements
with leaded lights and loop catches, single storey brick lean-to. Interior: to
right of passage, plank and batten door with triangular head and chamfered
surround, newel stair in front right room; rear of rear wing has large chamfered
cambered lintel to fireplace, now divided between 2 rooms, chamfered and step-
stopped beams, possible site of former 2nd stair visible at first floor to left
rear.
