Circa 1830-40 a group of 4 narrowly detached stucco villas, originally identical,
each with 3 bay 2 storey front. Plinth; chanelled ground floor up to moulded
lst floor sill course; Tuscan quoin pilasters and the central bay on lst floor
also flanked by Tuscan pilasters rising from doorway entablature. Deep frieze
broken back over central bay. Bed mould to overhanging eaves of gable end
slate roof; corniced brick chimneys. Plain revealed lst floor windows with
panelled sills. Ground floor windows set in camber-arched panels with grooved
voussoirs. Broad pilaster strip doorways with consoles supporting moulded
cornice. Door of 2 moulded panels; very narrow rectangular fanlight with corner
panes over marginal side lights. Glazing bar sashes intact to lst floor windows.
Nos 54 and 55 have ground floor windows replaced by circa 1860 canted bay
windows with cornices.
