Water Hydrant. 1887. Cast iron, about 3 feet high comprising a fluted column on moulded base and a domed fluted cap with acorn finial with lion's head mask below. Knob on left hand side. Metal plaque in churchyard wall adjoining has the inscription "This standard was part of a water supply for Whitwell installed in 1887, half the cost subscribed by Mr W Spindler of Old Park, the remainder being supplied by the people of the village. The water was supplied by Mr Granville Ward from a spring on the land at Bierley".
