House. 1821-22 by William Firmadge, extended 1897 and restored
1980-82. Stuccoed with slate roofs hidden by parapets. Two
storeys with horizontally-rusticated ground floor moulded
string-course, cillband to first floor and moulded cornice to
coped parapet, both raised slightly on central projection.
Central parapet with balustraded panels flanking central
double-scroll motif with Greek key decoration. Three-bay
centre with single-bay recessed wings flanking. Eared moulded
surrounds to first floor windows in outer bays with
square-bracketted cornice-hoods over windows below. Eared
moulded surrounds to first floor of centre with cornice hoods
over in outer bays and triangular pediment on scroll brackets
over centre. Tripartite sashes on ground floor with segmental
arched recesses over, filled with wreaths and flanked by
raised panels. Double panelled doors in centre with tall,
narrow flanking lights. Projecting Doric porch with two fluted
baseless Doric columns in antis carrying plain Doric
entablature and fictive pediment over centre. Various stuccoed
and gault brick wings to rear. Interior: toplit staircase.
