Church. 1868-9. GE Street. Common brick with red brick and stone dressings, slate roof. Single vessel forms nave and chancel, division marked by fleche and cross-gable. Nave has aisles under lean-to roofs, no clerestory; paired 3-light windows. West end has two 3-light windows, buttress between has canopied statue of St Margaret, rose window above. Aisles have projecting west entrances of 2 orders and rose windows over. Passage to rectory has half-hipped gable. INTERIOR: 6-bay nave arcades on banded marble columns, waggon roof. Circular font on 6 columns and hexagonal base. Chancel has low marble wall with central iron gates. Sedilia and piscina with cusped arches. Memorial brass to R Horsfall (died 1881). Stencilled decorations on walls and roofs by Maddox and Pearce. Much stained glass by Clayton and Bell.
