GV II

Semi-detached villa raised above road level and set back at
eastern end of Montpelier Terrace. Early/mid C19. Stucco,
chanelled at ground floor, with slate roof having central box
dormer with margin glazing and brick slab end stacks. 3
storeys and attic. 2 windows. Central round-arched entrance of
6-panel door beneath fanlight flanked by pilasters with
triglyph imposts. Canted bays of 3-light hornless sashes with
margin glazing rise through ground and 1st floor. 12-pane
hornless sashes to 2nd floor. Continuous cast-iron balcony at
1st floor level follows the line of the bays and continues
around plain left-hand return. Rear with sashes and central
round-headed stair light. INTERIOR not inspected. Montpelier
House forms a group with Nos 1-20 (consec) Montpelier Terrace
(qv).
